HOW TO UNINSTALL THE SCREENSAVER?

You can find your current screen saver in the Display control panel. The settings are similar in Windows 98 and XP; here is windows XP example below.

The Screen Saver tab stores the settings and options for your screensaver, and you can change them here. Any screen saver theme that you choose will display in the preview window.


You can make changes

Choose your preferred screen saver from the drop down list — the preview window will change to show how your new screen saver will look on-screen, or you can click preview to see a full-size version.

You can also make adjustments to the screen saver, but these more advanced options differ depending on the screen saver itself. Click Settings to access the options.

The screen saver switches on when the computer has been inactive for a certain amount of time, which you can change to suit your needs. If you use a CRT monitor, and your computer is left unused for many hours, turning the monitor off is the the best way to save power. The settings can be configured to do this automatically, but you may want to turn off your screensaver first.

How to remove screen saver?

1) Click the START button and select SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL.
2) Double click the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon.
3) Select Rumi&WhirlingDervishes ( or the screensaver you would like to remove) from the list of software that can be uninstalled. Click the REMOVE button.

If you still find the screensaver in your list of screensavers, it should be an .scr file is *normally* a Windows screensaver. You need to use Windows Explorer to go to your Windows\System folder (or WinNT\System32). Locate the screensaver and delete it.

Note: If you have screen savers and aren't sure how they got installed on your computer, first you should do a Spyware scan. Then whereever the files stored, right click on it. in order to delete. Make sure run virus scanner after that. Some virus and spywares use .scr file .exe files pretend as windows screensaver. In this case make sure before install anything in your PC, check if the file name if is match with the screensaver producer's name. And if there is uninstall option in the product.
